Since parish records for baptisms, marriages and burials started being kept in 1538 we start to be able to trace the main groups of Bowdlers with more certainty.
In the 19th century we also have official births, marriages and deaths being recorded along with cencus data which gives a clearer picture of the main family lines.
The pages in this section provide notes on each of these family lines, this does include the Bowdle family in America.
Since the late 1800s Bowdlers from all lines have spread across the world so I have linked them to the main lines they came from rather than their country of residence.
