There have been Bowdlers in and around Montgomery for over 900 years. While there are documentary mentions of medieval Bowdlers there is not a pedigree recorded for them in the Heralds Visitations.
There are three family groups from Montgomery which I believe have common roots but this needs more research.
There are descendants from this line in South Africa and USA.
